Reading Paul Vick's blog I've just discovered an interesting report by Forrester Research where interesting data are revealed:
- Visual Basic is the #1 .NET language
- Visual Basic is the #1 downloaded and #1 registered Express Edition (topping the #2 position by 20%)
- Visual Basic is the #1 MSDN language dev center and blog in terms of traffic
- The Visual Basic Team blog is in the top 1% in readership of all MS bloggers
I think that everyone thinks that C# is the number 1 .NET language used, but these data revert the situation. However, this is the greatest feature of the .NET platform: you can choose your favourite language to code, but the platform is the same.
