Microsoft has started on Codeplex an initiative for Microsoft CRM called "Vertical Templates".
These templates include reference data models, pre-defined workflows, and role-based user experiences that showcase how Microsoft Dynamics CRM is relevant to customers in these industries.
Each vertical template includes the following materials:
- CRM Configuration XML Files
- Workflows
- User Roles
- Demo Data
- Demo Script
- README File
The templates are designed to work with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 today and will be updated for the next release of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM product.
The first set is devoted to the manufacturing industry and they can help you to customize your CRM installation for a specific sector or business.
I hope that this initiative will have grown a lot and I hope that these templates could embrace various sector of the industry world (service industries, financials, public sector etc.). For the moment... it's a great start!
