When some years ago Microsoft has launched the new Dynamics vision (do you remember the famous "Wave 1" and "Wave 2"?), one of the common question that customers asks to Partners is: when we'll have a convergence of the actual Dynamics products? Is this convergence a reality?
Obviously, there's not a clear answer at the moment (some strategies are under NDA) but what is sure is that a first step of convergence is already begun.
The future Dynamics products will have a common set of features and an improved interoperability, they all will share a RoleTailored user experience, integration with SharePoint technologies for collaboration and workflow support (yes, also Windows Workflow Foundation!), Reporting Services, Business Intelligence capabilities via SQL Analysis Services, and integration of Web Services.
Convergence is an ongoing process and it's not sure that the final result will be a single big product (as someone could imagine). You will be sure that the platform will be always more ready to fit your business needs and will be always more integrated into the latest Microsoft technology (the future release of Dynamics NAV and Dynamics CRM are a step on this direction for example).
