Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 testing phase: what to expect

As many of you already know, Microsoft in these days is starting a first "public" testing phase of its upcoming Dynamics NAV 5.0. Lots of interesting news are coming out and, as I've said in the past, don't be worried: Dynamics NAV 5.0 will not be a real revolution on our actual implementations.

However, in the past I've always said that, in order to have their partners prepared for the innovation, Microsoft should release at least a beta version to every partners for testing purposes. Can we test our solutions before the official NAV release, in order to say our customers that "we're ready for the 5.0"?

No answer about this but today, with a bit of surprise, by checking PartnerSource I've discovered that the Dynamics NAV 5.0 page was updated. The interesting lines are these:

  • Beta Access W1 (Feb. 1)
  • VPC W1 (Feb. 20)

Maybe it's the time that we'll see a VPC image for testing? All our requests are listened now?

I hope so... having a VPC to test the new releases is extremely important, now and more in the near future. We'll see what happens...
