Microsoft Dynamics CRM Connector for NAV

One of the tools that many Microsoft Dynamics Partners are waiting for is certainly the CRM Connector for NAV, that will permit a real integration between the CRM side and the ERP side. Actually there are commercial CRM connectors for NAV available, but having a native Microsoft solution is a must to have.

I've  just said in the past on many forums that the integration between Microsoft CRM and NAV is possible today, you can write your own custom logic that will permit to do so (I will write something more about it in the future to give you some ideas on how to do it).

From the last Convergence EMEA conference, some interesting news about the CRM Connector for NAV were available.  This is a schema of the architecture:

The future CRM Connector for NAV will permit you to have a native solution with a standard integration between the two systems, integration that can be customized by your Microsoft Dynamics NAV partner in order to meet your needs.

Some interesting features announced are:

  • Offline ordering (wonderful! )
  • Two-way synchronization
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV price calculation
  • Support for previous Microsoft Dynamics NAV releases (3.01 and above)

Unifying the best of both systems will permit you to have a really powerful application to manage your business.

Should be nice, but "Off line ordering" and "Two-way synchronization" seem the kind way to say "You will not able to work in real time"...

Don't you think?

This could be true for the 5.0 release, I can agree with you that real time synchronization could be not so "real time"
With the 5.1 release, when the Web service platform for NAV will be ready, real time synchronization could be a reality (the web service platform will permit to execute internal business logic).
With Offline Ordering they mean the capacity to user CRM offline (a feature available now): you can create an order offline with CRM when you're out of office, then going online, synch it with NAV and start the real order process.

There is a Real Time integration between Dynamics NAV and Dynamics CRM. It is the VisionCRM Connector, visit our website for more information, and I would be happy to show a demonstration of it on Microsoft Live Meeting.
