After the big launch of the new Microsoft
Dynamics brand, I'm seeing a lot of confusion and doubt on
customer's mind and the main questions that I often receive are:
- What will be the future for Navision?
- Will have a convergence for all the actual products?
- Can we invest our money on Navision today or we've to wait the near
future?
Dear customer (
) you've not to be worried: Microsoft is working a lot on
improve their family of ERP products and for the next future we'll see a more
rich platform, more integrated with all the product lines that Microsof actually
has.
Convergence of the different lines of products is not planned today and I
think that this will never happens, because every of the actual product has its
particular target.
Regarding Navision (Dynamics NAV), should you
invest your money today or should you wait? The answer is YES, you can start
your business with Dynamics NAV today without doubts!
Dynamics NAV we'll see soon a new light, with a totally revolutioned product
that will satisfy your needs in all aspects and your actual applications could
be easily migrated to the new platform.
I've talked
in the past about what will be the future for Dynamics NAV, so I think that
instead to be worried you've to be happy and satisfied.
The big step will be the new Dynamics NAV architecture: from the actual
2-tier architecture

we'll have a movement on a 3-tier architecture with native Web
Services for communications between the layers and the extern. Dynamics NAV will
be more "web-enabled" and more open to integration than today (.NET will be
natively supported).

The user interface layer will be renewed and will be customizable for the
user habits (for more details I recommend to read my previous
post). However, in order to satisfy customer's requests and decrease the
doubts around Dynamics NAV future, please open your eyes and see what is waiting
for you (excuse me if I'm doing this
)... if you believe on Dynamics
NAV, this will be on your desktop soon:

I hope the doubts will be totally cleared now...
