Singularity vs Windows vs Unix

Microsoft 's Research Lab has published this report, showing the actual Singularity's kernel performances compared to FreeBSD, Linux and Windows XP.

There's a graph that shows a Disk I/O Benchmark where they measured the cost of random and sequential disk reads and writes on the various OS and these are the results:

Do you think that some Linux guys are true by saying that there are better, faster, ways of doing these things in Unix but these tests are targeted for Microsoft's architectures?

Read/write over which hardware?
On the speed access you can get this but how does it in the memory and process managing, and some other real OS's related stuff.
Besides I don't want to say more because this results where published by the "Microsoft's Research Lab"
I mean, I can publish the opposite signing by a BSD or Linux developer.
