Two days ago I've received an email with the news that my I-mate SP5m was arrived to my shop and yesterday I've retired it.
After a day of usage, I can say pros and cons of this smartphone for who's interested on it.
Pros:
- Light and small
- Wonderful screen: the screen attracts your eyes for its brightness and dimension, really wonderful
- Windows Mobile 5.0: really stable, more fast than the previous version.
- WiFi: I've tryed the connection on an home network and it was good. This week I will be out for conferences and I'll test it with outside hot spots.
- Battery: seems to have a long duration
- Camera: 1.3 megapixel with a good zoom and a good quality
- Package: the phone structure is solid and the package is really one of the most complete I've found (with the phone you have the software cd with ActiveSync 4.0, USB cable, earphones, a nice case to protect your phone and two manuals).
Cons:
- Ringtones: really bad and with low volume, in my opinion you've absolutely to replace them with others (you can easily download music files and use the as ringtones).
- Keypad: the keys are small also for me that I've not big hands and sometimes it's difficult to write a text quickly without seeing the screen (with my Nokia I've always written sms without seeing the screen).
For the moment I'm totally satisfied of this new smartphone and in these days I'll have lots of chance to use it a lot because in this week I will be often out of office for work. ActiveSync 4.0 is a must to have if you want to sincronize your phone with your PC (in a minute, PC and phone will share the same data) and (a nice discover for me) you can also sincronize data from 2 or more PCs with your phone (the phone will receive a merge of these data).
