I know that Scoble has an impact on the Blogosphere, but the idea I've found on his blog today is not good for me.
I don't know exactly what there's under the "secret new technology that makes the tech blogging world even flatter" but saying that comments will be unnecessary is a bad idea. Scoble says that in the future "all you need to do to leave a comment on my blog is to have a blog yourself and link to it", because there will be systems that'll match up -- in minutes -- a main post and all the comments being made about that post.
Sure, this sounds cool because it's like a powered trackback system, but if blogs will loose the standard comment system they're loosing its nature. Although sometimes I use this method (when I think I've something to say to the community about a blog post just read, sometimes I like to respond to the original post with a new post on my blog, like now) I think that one of the wonderful feature that a blog have is the power to be commented. Users that reads your posts can leave their opinion quicly and in a permanent way directly on your blog, and this is a lovely way to do that I don't want to loose.
So, welcome to the new "trackback system", but please keep alive the standard way to blog... I want to be commented!
