Today I was reading Steve Rider's Blog (he's one of the developers of Microsoft's Start.com, the Web-Based RSS Aggregator) and I've found an interesting post where he reveals some development plans and future strategies for the future product.
Cool things are revealed on this post (lots of features and don't forget the full Firefox support
) but the sentence that attracts me is this:
Our goal is still about aggregating the best of what you want on the web, like bookmarks, rss feeds, and news. But it also means that you should be able to write your own modules that you can have with you whenever and wherever, even on your phone, and you should be able to share them with your friends too.
This is so cool... I can't imagine now the real power of this possibility but I think that if we can build a custom module insight the RSS Aggregator, we could have a new way to share informations and have an aggregator always with us (for example on a Pocket PC or a Smartphone). Another cool possibility could be the integration of this RSS Web aggregator with a web page or an intranet Portal (maybe Sharepoint).
We're waiting for the first API for playing a bit...
