Blog Reader + Blog Posting...

In these days I'm searching for a good FREE tool for posting on .Text Blogs (my favourite tool, BlogJet, now is not free) and yesterday I've discovered Sauce Reader.

Sauce Reader is a good feed reader (with really a nice interface) but has also a good feature: it has the possibility to post on .Text Blogs... wonderful!! I've tryed it and seems to work good.

I think it could be soon become my favourite Blog tool...

  • Supports all major feed formats including RSS and Atom.
  • Integrated weblogging environment with full posting functionality.
  • Automatic application updates.
  • Clean, intuitive user interface.
  • Feed discovery and one-click subscription.
  • Full-text search of archived items.
  • 3-pane interface with newspaper style views.
  • The last thing to say is that it's entirely build on .NET Framework 1.1, so the Framework must be installed on your system.

Looks quite promising indeed. Currently I'm on SharpReader, but I'll give that a quick run.

You should try RssBandit and w:Blogger. It works out great. BTW: SharpReader also has a plugin for w:blogger.

I too had started using SuaceReader, and it's a great tool. Unfortunately at the moment, it's been having some conflicts on my system, which is slowing it down. (I'll have to report that)

For the time being I'm back on SharpReader, but SauceReader isn't far from my reach.

We thrive on feedback at Synop, so please take the time to report any problems, suggestions or feature ideas you have for Sauce Reader. Michael, I'd be particularly interested to hear more about your problem:

BTW, Sauce Reader also supports w.bloggar integration but the built in environment supports local drafts, offline editing, synchronisation with conflict detection, office copy & paste with stripping of the horrible tag soup and much more.

    cheers, Nathan

Just installed v1.6 Beta, and noticed a bug? and a missing feature...

What I think is a bug is that in one of my feeds, there are 2 posts that show up under the "last month" grouping, yet the dates on these posts are 7/9/2003, and 7/11/2003. It looks like it is using the month and day, and not the year in grouping these posts? Yes, I did check the XML to make sure it had a 2003 in the date:

The feature request is that I'd like to be able to aim the reader at my Blogroll.opml file, and have it import all feeds, rather than having to add them one by one.
