ASP.NET Overtakes JSP and Java Servlets?

Just read on Netcraft:

In this month's Web Server Survey the number of IP addresses with sites using ASP.NET has overtaken those using JSP and Java Servlets. The number of IP addresses found with ASP.NET has shown very strong growth in the past year with a 224% increase from 17.2K to 55.8K. JSP & Java Servlets despite being overtaken is the next fastest growing in percentage terms with a 56% increase.

Interesting... ASP.NET seems to be a mature technology now and IIS 6 a really good web server. Wonderful!

Well... as long as Netcraft only counts file extensions, that's not a very representative study.

The Reason?
Java web apps almost never link JSP-sites directly but use controller servlets which forward to JSPs... and that servlet can have any extension, so most JSP sites never get counted by Netcraft...

However, that doesn't mean that ASP.NET is not a mature technology - lots of advantages and disadvantages at both technologies, I'd say.
