My requested Java Live CD is here...

Do you remember when I've blogged about a possible Java Live CD? I was searching for a Live CD OS distribution (maybe based on Linux, such as Monoppix) but with the Java environment ready to use.

I've not received interesting responses from the community... seems that noone knows if something like this exists, until today. Today I've receive a feedback from an anonimous reader that has signalled me a great project, the project I was waiting for:  Pollix Live CD.

Pollix is a Live CD based on Knoppix, with many programming tools (for Java, Python, Perl and Tcl/Tk) included, such as: J2SE SDK (1.4.2, full with documentations), Jikes, Netbeans, Eclipse, BlueJ, JGrasp, JSwat, Tomcat, JBoss, Boa-Constructor, IDLE, SPE, VisualTcl, SWIGSciTE, etc., and several Java, Python and Perl libraries. You've only to boot your PC from cd-rom and you'are ready to use the environment (Knoppix is wonderful, the best Live CD platform I've ever see).

If you want to learn Java or if you plan to work with Java for some projects but you don't want to prepare a dedicated machine for the JDK environment installations, this is a must to have. Here you can see some screenshots:
